Classical refers to a genre of music characterized by compositions that follow the traditional structures and principles of European classical music. It encompasses music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, as well as compositions influenced by or reminiscent of these eras. Classical music is often performed by orchestras, chamber ensembles, and soloists, and features symphonies, concertos, sonatas, and other instrumental and vocal works. It has been highly influential in shaping the development of Western music.
