"We want to prevent people from moving into violent Christian nationalism and the way to do that is to stary by understanding what's driving them there to begin with. It's fear and a sense of group humiliation.
From a Christian community standpoint, we need to get back to teach what Jesus taught us; we are going to be persecuted, and that is the way of Jesus. Jesus was persecuted and he promises we will have trials like he did. And he gives us a way in which we walk through those trials, and that way is not through the sword, it's not fighting back... that reduces the number of people that are susceptible to violent Christian nationalism."

"The data shows us, going back to the 1990s, that more plots, attacks, and deaths come from groups that are categorized as right-wing violent extremists; primarily white power movements and militia movements... The why behind this is murky... some of it is personality factos, the right tends to be much more organized than the far left.
The far left, which has a value system that they don't want anyone in charge, tends to destroy property, so you'll see them in riots. It's usually not a premeditated type of attack. We did have a significant set of far-left terrorism in the 1960s and 1970s...
The reason I wrote this book was because my side is responsible for more deaths and destruction than the other side and I feel a sense of responsiblity to clean our own house. Let's clean up our own house before we fear monger about Antifa and far-left terrorism."
