Reading this again 12 years later, and it is just such a great overview of key economic thinkers: Milonakis and Fine. 2008. From Political Economy to Economics. Very different emphasis and coverage to Blaug, Hunt, Hovenkamp, or Screpanti & Zamagni. Highly recommend.
Brilliant paper. Question: on "purchase intension" - is it not sensitive to the position/rank of the result shown? Your study says this boils down to "higher product relevance" instead. Minor: bibliography seems incomplete. Cited paper by Zeng et al (2022) is missing.
Great piece! I wonder about any forces pushing in the opposite direction: amazing chips being made by Nvidia, new competitors in AI, + benefits of cross-platform compatibility to capture market share when facing competition. So: is AWS becoming more open or closed over time?
This is a great post. Really interesting. Expectations at the sector level play a role too. Big Tech have fired many people earning decent salaries previously. While energy investments may be up. I’d like to see the net effects from this change in expectations / sectoral effects
