Graduated from Villanova University and commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy through Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps. Completed Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training (BUD/S) and deployment to South Vietnam. Led naval special operations forces in the Persian Gulf. Served in various staff and command positions, including commanding officer of SEAL Team One and Naval Special Warfare Command. Retired from active duty after 30 years of service.
