Promotes equity in science and engineering through three "fixes": increasing representation of underrepresented groups, implementing structural changes in research organizations, and integrating sex, gender, and intersectional analysis into research design. Directed Stanford University's Clayman Institute for Gender Research and presented keynote address at United Nations' Expert Group Meeting on Gender, Science, and Technology. Prepared background paper for United Nations' Commission on the Status of Women on the theme of innovation, technological change, and education for achieving gender equality.
