This kind of dashboard monitors the day-to-day metrics

It answers the question “What is happening now?”

Managers oversee the operations so can use the data for decision-making

2/ Strategic Dashboard

Used by executives to monitor the status of KPIs

Often these dashboards summarize performance over a long period

Executives monitor the KPIs over a consolidated period of month, quarter or year

3/ Analytical Dashboards

Investigates trends, predict outcomes and discover insights

Developed by data analysts who can derive insights from large data

The main goal is to discover new insights based on historical data

In business environment the dashboards types are not rigidly set

Often there will be a need to combine multiple types as the intended audience could be mixed
