People are attracted to faces. Include them, even if it's not YOUR face.
Don't use logos, landscapes, or the default Twitter "egg". Make your thumbnail bright, clear, and easy to recognize.

- Call to action

I've sold sponsored emails/posts for over $3,000 a pop. Sell 10 a month and that's $360,000 a year.

I say no to about 99% of companies who want to be a sponsor. I value my audience and have extremely high standards for sponsors.
If it doesn't feel right, don't do it.
