An incredible few days at the @allinsummit 🤯
Here’s my first Twitter thread with my takeaways 🧵
#allinsummit
1. @MarHershenson gave a brilliant talk on if founders are born or made.
The two traits that are coachable are peers & network.
Got me thinking about how I can proactively cultivate my network - weekly poker game anyone?
Mar is doing some inspiring work creating founders.

2. BGSquared @bgurley @altcap gave a masterclass in markets.
Too many takeaways to name them all but one that sticks out:
Negative unit economics in the pursuit of growth will fail 49 times out of 50.
Reassuring given how disciplined we’ve been at @hackajob_co

3. Super fun to be able to spend 10 mins chatting to one of the GOATs of this generation @typesfast
Perhaps the most concise takeaway of the whole conference:
Focus on velocity over speed.
Velocity = direction and speed.
Make sure you’re going in the right direction.

4. @friedberg is the GOAT full stop.
I can’t believe the amount of time he gave to attendees at all the parties and in the breaks. I’m not buying the robot banter anymore 😆
Fascinating to see how his conviction in fusion will unfold over the next few decades vs Elon’s take.

5. @DavidSacks provides the most relevant, practical advice to SaaS founders out of anyone in the industry.
His framing on what’s gonna matter to raise over the next 18-24mo will literally shape how we build @hackajob_co
Luckily we’re already hitting his new benchmarks 😉

6. @chamath was incredibly gracious with his time and wanted to have actual conversations with everyone he met.
Had to ask him about 🍷
His top two:
- 2001 Masetto
- 2000 Quintarelli Amarone Riserva
They also had a bottle of Soldera on stage 😱
Added to my wish list.

7. We look up to the besties as gods but it was so refreshing to hear they still make mistakes. All of them shared recent stories of mistakes they’ve made and lessons they’ve learnt.
Reminded me of my favourite all in podcast to date - the final 20 mins of E41.

8. @Jason is a force of nature and doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
His energy and sharpness made the event.
As Mar sat down with the besties she said “this is intimidating”
Without missing a beat @Jason replied “yes, it’s terrifying for the 4 of us”
Magic moment.

9. @PalmerLuckey & @Jason created the most uncomfortable yet essential conversation I’ve seen.
Palmer is a generational founder & was courageous in sharing his thoughts.
JCal could have cowered but he didn’t. He owned it, apologised and found a new bestie.
Captivating 60mins.

10. The besties are creating the most important media platform at an essential time wether they formalise it into a LLC or not.
They’ve shown us all how to critically think, debate, feel uncomfortable and most importantly grow.
The new Ted x10.

11. The calibre and diversity of the attendees was immense. The breadth and depth of conversations was inspiring.
I’ve made lifelong friends from all over the world over the last few days. The #allin movement is real.

12. Have to finish with @elonmusk
To hear him talk in depth on topics ranging from Twitter, free speech, fusion, EV, money as information systems, immigration etc etc over 90 mins was mind bending.
Impossible not to be inspired.

And that’s a wrap on my first Twitter thread.
Final note to @Jason @DavidSacks @friedberg @chamath is a simple thank you. You guys are doing something really special and so important.
