They are actually part of the same corrupt machine that has sold out the Richmond for decades by using public money to fund their political organizing through patronage and gov't contracts to organizations like @housingrightsSF @PeoplePowMedia #JosephSmooke and @SF_Rising
@SandraLeeFewer brags about securing state money from @PhilTing to funnel for "capacity building" - something that has no accountability or deliverable and just pays people for political organizing.
This was $300k from the State for "Capacity building on the west side" from @SandraLeeFewer & @PhilTing + $150k in city funds for a community planning process in the Sunset by @D4GordonMar

Supes aren't allowed to direct this money. Should all be from RFP process. But here we have MOHCD discussing the direction they got from @D4GordonMar aide Daisy telling them how to spend the $. Says it's to carry out a community planning process but is actually for "base building
In May this money was granted to @medasf (the only applicant)+ $600k in ERAF money for "capacity building". This money doesn't buy any housing or provide any services. Just pays nonprofit staff. #Followthemoney
#JosephSmooke is getting paid for "capacity building...primary contact for the Richmond and Sunset based coalitions, organizations, leaders & staff of the D1, 4, 7 Supes" Among others, the grant explicitly directs working with #RichmondDistrictRising and @housingrightsSF
#JosephSmooke has no experience in affordable housing development & is guaranteed a city funded salary this year. He's a long time political operative & key part of the political machine. Now runs @PeoplePowMedia with @DyanRuiz who also brags about @SandraLeeFewer getting them $$
Smooke, former aide for @DavidCamposSF, went on to run the @housingrightsSF expansion into the Richmond with funding secured by @ericmar415 in 2015. The beginning of Smooke being paid with public dollars for political organizing. hoodline.com/2016/09/housing-rights-committee-now-serving-tenants-from-new-inner-richmond-office
When it was time for @SandraLeeFewer to run, we have @LeeHepner aide to @AaronPeskin campaigning for her, lead by #JosephSmooke and @SF_Rising - another beneficiary of city grants for political organizing.
When they say “build capacity” they mean recruit new political operatives and volunteers through city funded nonprofits. And legitimize them for political purposes like the one @conniechansf is using him for here
