First things first: There is no secret shortcut to building your twitter account. If you want to see results, you have to do the work.

My account was dead in the water until I started to take things seriously.

Here is my step by step plan:

1. Content
Try yourself out until you find your niche but stay true to yourself.

I tend to stick to a combination of education 🎓 (threads) and entertainment 😃 (memes, irl pics) all tied together under my core theme: trying to make the space better every day. ❤️

2. Community
In order to make your content work, you need to build a community around it. Engage with others. Ask questions. Answer questions. Be honest. Be humble. Be genuine.

The community here is actually what got me to stay on twitter so this was a given for me.

A good example for this are my GM posts, which tend to perform very well as I try to not only answer each and every comment with a „gm“ but genuinely engage with my friends.

This helps with avoiding bans, but also builds relationships.

Another way to quickly gain some traction is to utilize trends in your content. I tried this as a quick test last week as a text only tweet.

My good friends @salvonft and @xerocooleth went viral with trending tweets this week, too. ❤️

3. Replies
Replying on other tweets is essential to build a sustainable community. Find people you click with and engage. No rocket science here.

I also did some experiments with replies to larger (non nft) accounts. While quick and witty replies can boost your reach to the extreme, this is likely to get some backlash as well.

4. Followers
Followers don’t matter. 🤯
They are nice to have, but the algo tends to lean more towards good content.

One (semi-)viral thread got me from top 10 to the #1 MAYC spot very quickly.
