I've been reflecting lately on my journey as an artist. The past few months have been very meaningful for me.

I was always uncomfortable being described as a Neo-expressionist because the term was the product of PR more than a genuine movement of artists. The idea that it was a reaction to conceptual art was contrived in order to sell more colorful paintings.

The culture of traditional art is promotion. It is a culture of selling benign luxury goods to billionaires.
Web3 allows for diversity, inclusion, and creative development without the interference of centralized authority.

This is something that is lacking in the traditional art world, where gatekeepers hold all the power.
As a web3 artist I finally feel I belong to a community that shares my values. Crypto culture loves decentralization and crypto art is a pure expression of this.

It's amazing to me because I never felt like I truly belonged in the art world community before. But now I feel like I've found my place. It is within crypto art that many styles can exist side by side and inspire each of our unique creative perspective.
